Jordan Thorpe

Analyst

Jordan joined Compass Capital Management in 2023 as a skilled analyst supporting investments, client relations and operations, while also advancing the firm’s business development initiatives. Her expertise combines analytical depth and a client-centered approach, making her a key contributor to the Compass team. Before Compass, Jordan was an Investment Analyst at Gradient Investments from 2020 to 2023, where she contributed to portfolio analysis, attribution, and performance evaluations. She also played a key role in negotiating structured notes for advisors, reinforcing her capability in building tailored investment solutions. Jordan earned her B.B.A. in Financial Markets Finance with a minor in International Business from the Labovitz School of Business and Economics at the University of Minnesota – Duluth. During her time there, she gained practical experience managing the school’s endowment fund as a student portfolio manager and equity research analyst, which deepened her knowledge of investment strategy and performance analysis. She continues to stay actively involved in UMD’s Financial Markets Program, supporting students and the program’s initiatives whenever possible. Jordan was also a part of UMD’s Honors Program, where she presented her capstone project, “The Influence of Intuition on the Decision-Making of Investment Analysts,” at the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) conference in June 2020.

Jordan is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of St. Thomas and working towards her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation to further her industry expertise. She is actively involved in the CFA Society of Minnesota, where she serves on the Membership Committee and coordinates member events, including the annual golf tournament and networking gatherings. She is also a committed grader in the CFA Research Challenge, helping new participants develop their skills, having herself been a participant during college. Her professional affiliations extend to the CFA Society of Minnesota, Women Investment Professionals, 100 Women in Finance, and the Minneapolis Club, reflecting her passion for networking and industry engagement.

Jordan’s personal interests enhance her professional outlook. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, particularly her two younger brothers, and loves traveling, skiing, golfing, and hosting game nights. Her passion for the outdoors – whether hiking, kayaking, or exploring new places – complements her natural curiosity and global perspective, which she first developed while studying abroad in Australia. These experiences, combined with her professional dedication, bring a well-rounded perspective to her work at Compass, enriching her approach to investment management and client relationships.
